New Zealand-founded Combined Building Suppliers Co-operative is expanding into Australia, following eight years of strong growth supporting independent builders and tradies across the country. Since launching in 2018, CBS has grown to represent more than 2,100 members nationwide, helping level the playing field for small to medium-sized operators through collective buying power and supplier partnerships. CEO Carl Taylor says the move reflects both the success of the model in New Zealand and increasing demand from members for the same benefits across the Tasman. CBS will officially launch in Australia at the Bunnings Trade Expo Brisbane, with operations initially focused across Brisbane, the Gold Coast, and the wider South East Queensland region, backed by foundation supplier partners including Bunnings, Tradelink, Wattyl, and JB Hi-Fi.
